Pakistan has been blessed with so much of nature, that it is almost impossible for one to experience all of that in his/her lifetime. There are places known as well as unknown which all carry a different beauty and attraction in them. Be it about the plains of south or the mountains of north or the rivers flowing in all four provinces; every place is a masterpiece of nature. Hunza is not a name new to the people of Pakistan and now with the power of internet, has got an international recognition as well. Tourists from around the world plan their trips to Hunza to experience the breathtaking views in person and not just photos. While having a long history, the place has only started to get recognition from the past 5-6 years with more and more people exploring all that it has to offer.

Rakaposhi
Just about an hour’s drive away from Gilgit is this this place known as Rakaposhi view point. This is not that big of a place but it surely is an attraction for those who want to get a sneak peak at Hunza’s beauty from afar; blue clear sky and snow covered mountain tops.

Karimabad
Karimabad is a blend of both modern and traditional lifestyle, so you will sure get a different experience here. The place is specifically known for the diversity that it has in its culture not at present but from those old times when even the rulers were proud of this area. Today, people enjoy their time here watching children play and just taking deep breaths of fresh and pure air.

Altit fort
Altit fort has a long history but more than just listening about its old stories, people actually like to visit the place because of its great aura. The architecture of the fort represents the skill of the people of Hunza. As soon as you enter the fort, there is a beautiful garden of cherries at one side that is covered in all greens and a walk way in between to personally enjoy all that. When you are done walking through the garden, you can always dine at one of the cafes there and peacefully spend your whole day.

Baltit fort
Yet another representation of the great architectural knowledge of Hunza is this hundreds of year old, Baltit fort. The fort has now become a museum where everyone is free to enter and appreciate the culture and heritage of this place. A great time to visit this place would be when events like Bofao and Ginani are being enjoyed here.

Attabad Hunza lake
Most people don’t really know how this lake came into existence, well it was result of a landslide that stopped the passage to Hunza River and formed a beautiful lake. It is a 29.3 kilometers long lake that has been a great tourist destination the past 2-3 years. People take a tour of the lake in boats and camp on its side at night time.

Passu
The area looks like it is straight out of some French painting and being there in person is nothing less than a surreal experience. This is undoubtedly the most romantic place in Hunza valley and a big attraction for thousands of tourists every year; winter being the peak season. It is a very small ton with a hotel named Passu Inn that is usually booked most days of the year. You get to enjoy the great scenery along with getting a taste of their mouthwatering dishes. People can never have enough of this place; a 10 day stay is must when you visit here.

Rush lake
This lake is at great height, about 5000m, and easily the highest alpine lake in the world. It is a challenge ever for experienced trekkers to trek up to this lake but the efforts are totally worth the shot in the end. Groups of people usually try their luck getting to the lake but even if they don’t, the entire area is a big attraction in itself.

Hunza undoubtedly justifies being called heaven on earth, and also the reason why it tops the list of tourist attractions in Pakistan. It enjoys the most ideal place, between the beautiful Karakoram and Himalayan ranges.
